A note from the ahs IB program coordinator

Welcome to the IB Program at Agoura High School! IB is about developing the whole student, helping students learn how to learn, how to analyze, and how to reach considered conclusions about the world. I believe the IB program's greatest value lies not in its ability to boost GPAs and assist in university admission, but in its creation of students who become lifelong learners who are passionate about making the world a better place.

The IB Program is ideal for students who are willing to work hard and seek increased learning opportunities and challenges. Students who pursue the IB diploma program commit to a two-year plan of study for their junior and senior years. Students may also register for IB courses and not pursue the diploma. These students, however, are expected to pursue IB certificates by taking the IB exams associated with the IB coursework they have completed.

I hope that you will take full advantage of the International Baccalaureate Program while you are at Agoura High School. Regardless of what academic pathway you choose at AHS, ultimately what is most important is that you pursue the path that interests and motivates you!

Sincerely,
Jennifer Kestenbaum
