IB Student committee

​What is the student committee?
        The IB student committee is a student-run committee designed to aid in the implementation and coordination of the IB Programme. The job of this committee is to help the IB Coordinator as well as the IB teachers in ensuring the success of IB Students. The committee will be able to maintain a tight structure between the three key players of the IB Programme: the teachers, the students, and the parents. Such unification is essential for the IB Programme at Agoura to remain as prosperous as ever. With this committee in place, IB Students and parents will be more aware of what students are required to take. Knowing this information will hopefully both keep students passionate about the programme and allow parents to feel more secure about their child’s academic years in IB. This committee is broken off into two sections: student outreach and parent relations. The student outreach branch is designed to help current Pre-IB Students map out their schedule for the following years, give insight into the rigors and requirements of IB/Pre-IB classes, and help students understand all ramifications of the Diploma Programme. These members will also help execute CAS opportunities for IB Diploma students. The parent outreach group is responsible for working with the IBPA to host fundraisers, contacting parents periodically about IB information and events, and aiding in the execution of IB Information Night. In terms of community action, these members will help host fundraisers, percentage nights, and work with the CAS coordinator to create accessible community opportunities for the IB Programme.
